Just bought an 07 Verso with 67k on the clock, so far I like it is there anything to watch out for? And any sensible mods etc that you lads are doing? :)

look on the Avensis & RAV4 forums for posts about head gasket problems.

you can't have the ECU remapped on these but you can add a piggyback box - the ones from Parts-King (a Toyota dealer on here) & Tunit seem well regarded.

So from having a quick look at the link the engines in these cars are far from bomb proof? Toying with sorting a Warranty now reading that lot!

no modern Euro V or VI diesel is bombproof ...

Too much complexity (DMF, EGR, DPF, turbo, very high pressures etc. etc.).

Only Toyota know what % of these engines actually develop this HG problem but it likely it isn't very high or it would be far more widely known about.

& Toyota have stepped up to the mark & provided an additional warranty for it (7 years or 112k miles) should it occur - that's better than on a new car!
