hi all,

managed to rub my rear bumper of a wall over the weekend... luckly i only marked the rear passenger side bumper moulding trim. Looks like i can pop this off right? any one done this before if so how should i remove it? please dont say i need to remove the whole bumper?

As for the moulding strip itself can i order this from mr T in the colour i need or do i have to get it sprayed to match?

I enquired about this with Toyota after someone scraped my bumper in a car park. I think it was about £70 for the moulding strip but it only comes in black. Toyota will spray it the correct colour but I didn't bother asking for a quote. The damaged area on mine was only about the size of a 10p piece so I used their touch up kit which wasn't very expensive. It doesn't look great but it's not something your eye is drawn to unless you know it's there.

Sorry, I have no idea how you remove the strip.

Hello mate, the moulding is held on with claws as you will see from the picture I have attached and you maybe able to remove it with great care by using tape on the bumper around the moulding so as not to mark the bumper itself using a small screwdriver or get a quote from one of those chips away guys who may be able to do it in position. I don't think I would pay £70 for a bit of plastic if it can be repaired by you or a bodywork guy like chips away etc.

Regards Pete.

If it helps anyone, you need to prize away the curved end and slide the insert towards the front or rear of the car (to front for front, etc)
