Hi,

Sorry im not very good with forums so apologies if this has been posted before, I have a 2002 Rav4 D4D, I have an OBD2 reader for my other car but dont seem to be able to get the link working with the Rav4, Can anyone advise what protocol the Rav4 uses? can I use an OBD2 scanner on it?

I think Diesels only became OBD2 compliant after 2004. If so you'll need a Mini VCI cable and Techstream.

I think Joylove could be correct. My 2002 petrol uses ISO9141 although my geniscan gs300 doesn't quite follow the instructions in the manual.
