I have posted many times on the value of off the peg warranties

You make your own mind up, BUT Iwould be worried about the very first paragraph,

Please see your Policy Schedule for details of the maximum amounts that may be paid for each and any claim. These may be subject to lower limits as stated on these pages. All limits include VAT. There is no restriction to the number of claims you can make. This policy covers the following parts against mechanical breakdown as defined below.

What is the claim limit?

What are the lower limits?

Claims include VAT, that means the value of the claim is reduced by 20% in real terms

and the most important.............

This policy covers the following parts AGAINST MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN, rarely does anything MECHANICALLY BREAKDOWN, usually it wears and fails, this would NOT be covered

You pays your money and makes your choice............

Thank you for that. I did try and attached the "Full" policy. The max is the value of the car.

Good note on the MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN. I think they would say if the flywheel and clutch needed changing it was "wear and tear" not MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN

Mechanical breakdown will be described in the warranty policy, it will be along the lines of "sudden and without warning, failure or breakage" anything that is "noisy" like a wheel bearing will not be covered

What is the lower limit they describe? Most policies are up to the value of the car BUT certain items may have lower limits

You will find lots of items covered, however most of those items will rarely fail, you have to balance the good with the not so good

This is so very true, Kingo! For example, if your water pump starts whining, everyone and his brother knows the bearing is going out. But many of these aftermarket warranty companies refuse to replace it until it actually breaks, i.e., quits pumping or leaks.

One glaring ommision I noticed is that the aircon compressor is covered, but not the evaporator or condenser? And only after you pay an extra premium? That's crazy. Compare this to what my Toyota extended warranty covers:

AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING

Air Conditioning Lines and Tubes; Air Conditioning Pressure Switches; Air Temperature Control Programmer; Blower Motor; Blower Motor Resistor; Compressor; Compressor Clutch Assembly; Compressor Pulley; Condenser; Condenser Fan and Motor; Evaporator; Evaporator Temperature Sensor; Expansion Valve; Heater Control Valve; Heater Core; Idler Pulley; Pressure Regulator Assembly; Receiver/Dryer; Schrader Valve; Seals and Gaskets; Cooler Control Switch; Cooler Unit; Damper Servo; Defroster Control Cable; Heater Control Head.

James, you have a Toyota extended warranty, this is NOT a Toyota policy but an off the peg warranty, and IMHO, not worth the paper they are written on
