V-Matic Engine - Any Problems?

Hi guys - I'm over here from the Avensis Forum.

I'm considering buying a petrol Verso with the V-Matic engine.

Does anyone know of any problems with it - such as the infamous oil consumption problem of the 1.8 VVTI engine?

Another option is a 2009 (or earlier) Corrola Verso - I think these have the VVTI engine - but I believe the oil consumption problem was fixed in 2005?

Any thoughts or anything else I should be aware of?

I've so far done 22000 miles with my V-Matic engine using 0w20 oil. I can report no problems and only using a small amount of oil between each service.
