A Pillar Mount Aerial

We have recently purchased a 1996 Corolla 1.3 Solair, but reception on the radio is terrible and you cannot even pick up Radio 2. Seems to pick up some local stations okay, but fair amount of crackling.

I suspect the A pillar mount aerial which is only about a foot long and may have been broken at some time in the past. I am not sure if one was able to extend the original aerial.

Can any one advise firsly if the aerial was extendable and secondly whether it is a reasonably easy job to replace the aerial or antennae and thirdly where to obtain one?

Thanks.

Yes they were telescopic and pulled out, in fact they were quite long, you would not get a non genuine one, the genuine one is still available, but at £46. You are limited as to where you could fit another one, the wing is very narrow and you could not fit a conventional one there. Maybe you could mount one to the roof?

How easy is it to replace as I suffer from arthritis and have some limited on movements of fingers. Generally I get the wife to do these jobs. Do you have a link or part number for me? Thanks.
