High Idle On Startup

Hi all,

On my 2005 verso after starting up I get a very high idle rate of around 1900 which after about 2 minutes drops to around 650 which is a bit too low. Is this normal on these cars and if not what could be causing this?

Try turning the heater temperature down to Lo and see if the high idle drops. As the weather gets colder, the car will run with a higher idle speed in an attempt to heat up quicker. As the engine warms up, the idle drops.

Does sound a little higher than mine when it does this, think mine idles around 1200 if the heater is on until it warms up then drops to around 850-900.

My 2007 verso idles at around 1900 then drops to 800-900 after 2-3 minutes,

i was worried about this this but looks like the norm.
