Anyone here work for JCB and in particular acquainted with the 515-40 model ?? Having written to them about a persistant fault with the steering box falling off, wondfered if it was a common thing for a thirty grand tractor ??? Happens every 80 hours.

We used to have a guy on here ....Name was Earpl.......He worked for JCB for a while.....but has not posted on here for years!......His real name was Chris :)

How about,Ian, longer bolts,plain washer,shakeproof washer,plain nut,threadloc,drilled and split pinned,shakeproof washer,self locking nut followed by peening over the end of the bolt.

Then you would have somewhere to hang your sporran on after :ermm:

Neighbour, across the road from me, now retired, worked in their main Rocester factory R & D department as well as "hands on".

He can't recall or relate the exact model quoted but certainly never heard of any instances as described.
