Acceleration Hiccup?

I'm not sure if anyone has this problem with their Auris.

I've tested it with my cousins Mazda, firstly, normal drive off, shift to 2nd gear, then foot flat on the gas!(Around 2100rpm+/-) the acceleration is smooth, you feel a tiny pull once you reach max toque range.

But as for my Auris, same startup, 2nd gear flat on gas, its smooth once you reach 3000RPM BUT between 3000 to 4000/4200RPm range comes the problem - the car feel as if its losing power, car sinks forward a bit and during "Flat Spot" it also feels as if the car is not sucking air and you can hear the engine got bit quieter - But once pass 4000/4200rpm, you feel the pull again and everything feels smoothly after?

Tried it a few times, sometimes happens in first gear as well when i' want to pull off~ Its always during 3000 - 4000rpm (When its about to reach max torque).

* So heres what i've done to resolve.

Check the air filter area if there are anything blocking the pipes.

Went to Toyota and asked them to reset the ECU.

Resetted my car computer by unplugging the Battery for a few min.

Checked the pedal area, if anything is preventing the gas to be fully pressed.

Checked the oil, coolant etc. Everything is in perfect condition.

* Still didn't resolve the issue

But another thing that I realized is, straight after service, the engine is smoooth~ after a few days though, hiccup/flat spot range comes back...?

Yes, I understand that, but still...shouldn't it kick in rapidly?

Because I can see the acceleration slowed down a bit during that range, especially when over taking cars.

Dont know if this will help you but i had the same problem on my 2009 1.8 petrol. After a changed from 95 to 98 octan the engine worked like it should again.
