Hello new the forum. Me and my wife have just got a used Aygo with the auto transmission. Very happy with it. However not sure if this is normal but when the car engages its clutch it is very jolty especially when cold. Both when you have it in manual mode or auto. Is this normal? Also it's due a 40k service. Is it worth taking to toyota? Is there a software update that maybe needed for it? Basically I'm saying will toyota do a better job for the service than my local garage. Thanks you all your help guys.

hi Woodie.

A far as I am aware toyota dealers will not re-con ECUs.I think they quote about 900 quid for a new one.

These can be done for around 200 quid.

Dont know where you are there is one at Heanor that do this.Is this close to you?

Your MMT box needs a reset. They first adjust the clutch actuator position by loosening three bolts and then moving it to give zero pressure on the clutch lever. . They will then reset the MMT ecu with the Toyota Intelligent tester 2. All this is only about half an hour.

At 40,000 miles your clutch could be on the way out . The MMT box has to be reset before and after any clutch replacement and a Toyota dealer is probably the only answer.
