This is my MPG readout yesterday after a drive from Shropshire to Gloucester.

Motorway journey all the way (except for A5), 65mph on cruise control (1900 rpm).

Fuel - Shell fuel save.

Additive - Millers Ecomax (double shot)

Trip computer and MPG readout were both reset at the fuel pump before doing the journey.

Like I have said before, these cars CAN achieve reasonable MPG, but you have to take your time.

Start driving above 70mph and you can expect lower MPG.

It certainly helps if you have a motorway near you, so there's no need to be going up & down the gears regularly. My nearest motorway is 130 mls away and the A-roads are incredibly frustrating because of all the muppets doing 40 mph (not the truck drivers of which I am one for a living !).

My average MPG at the moment is 41.4 - a mix of A & B roads. I very rarely go above 70 mph as a result ........

Same as Uncle Buck , mainly A / B roads averaging low 40's but at the weekend just did a 20 mile journey home along the A6 in Derbyshire , a mixture of 30,40 & 50 mph roads and averaged 50.2mpg.
