rambler 13
Hi allOn my 4.2,i have noticed that the front tyres are almost half worn now, where'as the rears are almost as new ( All were renewed at same time a few years ago ).So....would it be the weight of the engine on the front tyres wearing them faster. As the 4.2 is permanent 4wd i would have though tyre wear would be even all round.I rarely use on the spot power steering, and always try to turn over a distance, save tyre wear. Davrav 104
Front tyres take the brunt of braking and cornering Jamie. When braking the balance of the vehicle is weighted forward. Just think of all those roundabouts you have in that Essex too......................
BeechCustom 1
Owners manual mentions uneven tyre wear and recommends swapping front to rears around every 6k I think (may have to check that).
