Rattle At Front Passenger Side

Wifey told me that she hears a knocking noise coming from the front passenger side when travelling over bumpy surfaces. Sounds like a balljoint issue.

Is this an expensive job on a 2008 Rav 4?

It's due a service in about 2000 miles time, would it be OK to leave it till the service?

Bit vague Kevin.

Have you checked to see if anything has come adrift under the bonnet? What makes you think ball joints? Is there any slack in them?

More likely to be the roll bar links if anything. You can easily check and do them yourself. I think Toyota ones are about £60.

Thanks for the feedback. My initial thoughts are balljoints or some other suspension component. I had a look around and can't see anything loose. Weather permitting, I'll jack it up for a poke around this weekend.

Its that long rod at the back of the wheel. Check if there is any play in them.

You might be able to buy polybushes if thats what causing the problem.

Didn't get to check yet, was sick all weekend. :yucky:

I'll probably stick with standard parts, don't think I'll have time to fix myself so will be going to the main dealer.
