Some numpty has whipped my wing mirror off this morning, so where's the best place for finding breaker parts like mirror housings etc?

looking in eBay it seems some sellers have aftermarket fit

09-11 Toyota Corolla

04-09 Toyota Prius

07-11 Toyota Yaris

I wonder if these are the same part numbers or real fit as finding them for the yaris/Corolla should be a lot easier.

Think Prius spares at a brakers will be thin on the ground. any written off wil go to a specialist dealing in Prius.have a big breakers near me and they dont ever seem to have any Auris in.

My local Mr T tells me that any Auris they have thats written of go to a Midlands breakers.

Never to my local East Englian scrappys.

Hey! It takes two to tango, but know how you feel - breakers ? - forget it.

Your in sophisticated territory nowadays, no whipping a gearbox or steering rack from a boot shunt in scrap yard with HSD's.

I had a similar, consulted dealer and they have a stepped system of assessing the damage/repair options, which leaves the choice up to YOU !!

Our mirrors are worlds away from the old Cortina type wing mirrors, consider the technology within = heaters - four channel movement motors - fold back facility - minor strike containment - colour coded finish - repeat indicator lamp - mirror glass replacement.

That was for an Auris, possibly different for your Prius, but check your bank statement before committing.

I had my drivers side mirrror smashed off on my previous Gen2 Prius by a speeding driver who never stopped. Toyota dealer fiited a new one for approx £200. I agree with the comments Terry953 has made.

Luckily? the GenII only has electric mirrors, without autofold or indicator bulbs etc.

Really old school of get a used one, rub down, 2pack spray paint of the right colour code.

Then unbolt old one, undo connectors, reconnect 'new' one, and rebolt.

Hopefully motors in a used unit will be ok, but looks like the motors are held on by a couple of large bolts.
