hi all just a word of warning to anyone who has a carcraft waranty.i brought a 08 plate avensis1.8tr with 53000 on the clock in january with the extended 5 year waranty.a few weeks ago i noticed a noise from the passenger side when i was in 4/5 gear, the noise disapered when clutch was in and when in netural.car wnet back to carcraft (now 63000 on clock)on monday for them to look at it under waranty.car was sent to a gearbox specialist who confirmed that the main bearing were worn,no problem i thought as ive got a 5 year parts waranty but today on asking how car is going im told waranty wont cover it as it wear and tare.ive since asked at toyota main dealer and they said its not wear and tare on a 4 year old car with 63000 on clock.im now facing a bill of around a grand for toyota to put it right as when i phoned carcraft customer services they didnt want to know and just said its wear and tare but if you want to appeal the i would need to do so in writing.as carcraft no longer do courstey cars and its costing me 140 a week for a hire car i asked how long that would take and the reply was its on a first come first served basis.as you can imagine im not a happy bunny cant fault the workshop staff at my local branch of carcraft is the so called customer service center and they have the gall to call it a drive happy package.any way rant over at least toyota can sort it all out in 1 day and they do courstey cars.
