Door Hinge Pin 'bushes'?

Hi. I own a 1999 Yaris GS 3-door. A couple of days ago, the wind was very strong and pulled the door open very quickly. Since then, the door is pinching against the wing panel when opening and closing. This may have been a problem previously as I have only had the car for a few months, and the previous owner may have bodged it up, but thats only a suspicion. Anyway...I can lift the door and there is movement at the top hinge. Close inspection shows it's the door pin.

Can I change these myself? Where can I get the parts? Anything on Youtube?

TIA

John Keith

I would advise that this work is carried out by a bodyshop. There are special tools for setting the hinges with the minimum of damage to the paintwork. To remove the hinge pin requires the use of a special tool with others to correct the 'set' of the hinge. This is not an easy DIY job, you may do a lot of damage which may well prove more costly in the long run.

Regards Geoff Peace.
