Sorry for the images not the greatest but can redo when it's not so bright.

Many thanks for those, they will do nicely - shame they do not offer rear scuff plates, goodness knows the wisdom behind that decision..

It appears that the mudflaps have been temp. removed from dealers system pending further stocks. Perhaps you had the last set :ermm: . Got to admire their new model car logistics regarding basic accessories :bangin:

Yes it really makes no sense considering there is no 3 door version of the car someone who made the decision should have realised it was 5 door not 3 d'oh.

The scuff plates for the 1st generation Auris were only offered for the front doors - according to my Auris brochure (printed July 2012).

Do they not expect people to open the rear doors and sit in the back :disgust:

The accessory section of the brochure for my previous 2009 Auris also shows the scuff plates as being 'front only'. In the first generation there are the standard plastic scuff plates on the inside sill of the rear door aperture, so perhaps Toyota consider these as sufficient.

BTW whats wrong with the passenger mirror and the roof lining? So i could start checking mine for any problems.

Well as mine as electronic ie fold in when car is locked, the casing itself moves up and down on passenger side but not on drivers also the roof lining above drivers head has 3 orange like marks on it, I have just had a phone call to make an appointment to go to Toyota on 23rd Jan so the bods at Toyota could come down and see the mirror for themselves obviously the reject at Customer Services hasn't filtered through yet as nothing else I talked about was mentioned.

I don't want to appear unhelpful on this, but a lot of things I cannot answer. I don't have the information to hand as this is not some official accessory that gives you all the options. I am working blind because the parts catalogue is unclear as to what options fit with which trays, and there are no sizes for me to work out if it covers up a compartment.

The space saver is 17 x 4T On my catalogue, it only lists one size of tyre which is T125/70D17 But you would need a different tyre for a 16" fittment, I don't know what size that would be, would need to look into it further

As for the boot / tool tray, there are only two on the EPC, one for one with compressor and the other for tools. This could be wrong perhaps, but not an A B C option. From what I can see, the wheel will not fit on a tray, it needs to be clamped down and I cannot see it clamping on a polystyrene tray. It LOOKS (and I cannot confirm this) that a standard space saver would fit in no problem, you could keep the lower deck where it is. If you had a steel wheel, I think you might just get it in with the lower deck. If you have a 17" alloy, you would definatly lose the lower deck

Sorry I cant be more helpful but I dont have any spare time at the moment to try out the options, as I am on holiday as from tonight. I will try and devote some time in the new year when I can try out some wheels options

Kingo

Hi Kingo

Any updates on this please?

It appears that apart from the space saver wheel itself, all that is required is the tool bag for the existing tools, possibly the securing bolt, although there is one which holds the standard tray to the boot floor with the compressor/gunk system which may/may not also secure the spare wheel. Also the auxillary boxes (Toyota speak) which surround the wheel which would be required to hold the existing jack. These "auxillary boxes are shown as types A,B & C in the owner's manual and it appears that type A is the space saver system one. It also shows a lid/tray which sits over the space saver wheel. Be interested in your opinions. Thanks in advance.

Very impressed with the grip of the new auris especially at this adverse weather condtion. Traction control, VSC and hill start as standard really helps.

Hope you get it sorted okay, the mirror should be easily dealt with by the dealer but who is going to replace the roof lining ? - a job for an expert trimmer no doubt. Very precarious task and potentially a valid reason for insisting on a brand new replacement car especially considering that it is so new. Although it is hopefully a very rare fault, it is nonetheless a very annoying and disappointing scenario for you. I know which action I would insist on.

Not difficult on a modern Toyota, they come like one big piece of trim all boxed up, not like the old days where you had a roll of plastic that needed trimming, they just need to be extra vigilant on keeping everything clean

It is not something you would be able to reject the car for and insist on a new one. In law you have to give the dealer the opportunity to put things right before going through that process. I am sure once it is replaced you will never know it has had a new trim

Kingo

PS Bassajay, no news yet on the wheel tool boxes

Lets hope so - must be a rare event, certainly a lot more so than door mirror replacement. It's the thought of a brand new car being messed around with to that degree. Far from ideal especially considering it is such a major part of the cabin. It is either poor quality control or something that happened post production.

Had to phonecall about 2pm and have been advised that Toyota have agreed to replace both mirrors :ermm: and roof lining they will be sent by courier and arrive tomorrow both the lining and mirrors, I have the dealers car for the night 1.4 Diesel and should be able to pick my car up in the afternoon tomorrow. :D I will be inspecting the car very carefully for any damaged or dirt on lining.

Decided to try Park Assist how strange it is but inch perfect from the curb. :)

Went to my dealer to see if my car was about but looked everywhere and didn't see it ie service bays, outside, car wash bays I did take down the mileage of it before I left and if it has been used by the dealer to get him home I wont be happy, have one of their cars but it's still not right to use mine.:(

It is possible that they have taking it to a specialist body shop. Putting in a new roof lining is not an easy job.

Then again if they have taking it home I would play merry hell. Once left mine at a dealer over night and next day found an extra 60 miles on the clock. Tried to tell me they were testing it, it was in for a new door lock. Got a free service out of that.

Hope that is the end of your problems.

Brand new models benefit from what is called "Early Detection Special Activity". It is part of the global commitment to better quality. What it means in real life is, any new model which has a problem, then Toyota want to know about it before the dealer fixes it and sends it on its way. It is a way for the mirror / headlining manufacturer to find out what went wrong in "real life" use, and they come and inspect the car to prevent it from happening in future cars. That is why sometimes your dealer might have to wait in order to fix a car, until they get the go ahead from Toyota. This does not mean every possible problem gets a visit from the factory, but the dealer does have to report it first to see what Toyota want to do (inspection or not) It could be that just a photo of the problem is required

I am glad it all went as it should, fixed right first time

Kingo

Great news, glad it all went well - now you can enjoy the car.
