Any Advantage Of Using Premium Unleaded In Hybrids?

As the Mrs. has mistakenly filled up with BP Super unleaded, are there any advantages/disadvantages, apart from paying more of course. Can I now expect a higher mpg?

Hi Monya, this question does crop up every now and then, but I think the consensus was that it doesn't, but that some 'Super' fuels tend to have additional cleaning ingredients which may be beneficial. For what it's worth, I find Energizer Ultra+ batteries in my Prius much more avantageous (long-running joke with mates :groan:)

No.

Just has higher octane levels and maybe a cleaning agent.

I think Alan nailed it in the last post.

Hi I have used both leaded and super unleaded in my Gen 3 Prius and it improved milage by about 3MPG so was not worthwile, considering the extra cost of super unleaded.
