Toyota Sera With 1Nt Engine Tachometer Problem

hello guys,

posting for the first time here, i have a 94 toyota sera with a toyota 1nt turbo diesel engine, i am facing two problems ,

1 the tachommeter doesnt register, i have got the alternator checked but no results.

2 the engine is unusually hot even for a diesel, i had the choked radiator replaced and good coolant, it runs fine but gets very hot, had it flushed during last engine oil change too.

so these are the problems if any body could help out , i would be gratefull.

is the engine registering hot on the guage?

it was but i had the radiator replaced but now it is ok, main problem is that of tachometer.
