Avensis Verso Oxygen Sensors

Hi,

2.0 VVTi, 2003 Avensis Verso

Engine warning light came on and diagnosed at Toyota Garage as the oxygen sensor T89467-44030. Subsequently was advised that this is B1S1. Is this correct and which one is it?

I had thought that cylinder 1 is on left hand side (when looking at engine from infront of car), but have seen reference to B1S1 on RHS...

Will engine warning light re-set automatically once faulty sensor is replaced? If not, how can I re-set? Will disconnecting the Battery work?

Having run without this sensor working for some 10 months, will catalytic converter be damaged?

Any help or comments much appreciated.

Thanks, Jim

Just guessing here, but wouldn't think the catalytic converter should have taken any serious damage,

and suppose the check engine light will go out when disconnecting the Battery.
