One of many that I personally wish we'd bring over offically, although I prefer the original Yaris-based Will better.

I haven't counted for a while, but even although Toyota GB has the biggest range in the UK (17 odd different cars) Japan has over 50 or so! Of course, they have 42% market share and five dealer chains (we have nearly 5% and two chains if you count Toyota and Lexus) and the Japanese market is broadly equivalent in size to the US. In other words, loads of customers to buy enough to justify the extra costs of development, stocking, etc.

Many of the different cars are re-styled verions of cars we already get (i.e Yaris is basis for Vitz, Fun Cargo, bB, Will, and a few others)

Will was started by various companies (Toyota, Panasonic, a white goods maker, a travel agent and others) to create a new, funky brand to appeal to younger buyers, a bit like Scion in the US. Not sure it has worked, but of course were we to bring Will here I think a well know mobile phone company might complain about the logo colour and style...

When I get the manual I'll let you know if its any good. It should be, the people who write it evidently do all the translations for jap cars.

I understand there are 8 Will VS in the UK and I know of a dark blue/purple one in Essex which was for sale until I bought this one !!!!!! (the one he was after).

I live down in Chatham, Kent.

Bought it yesterday in Bradford. It was owned by the guy who owns and designs Khan wheels.

I dont have a problem with insurance as I own a garage and have a motor trade policy. Lucky eh. The guy I bought it off imported it himself from Japan 2 years ago he saw one at a motor show and knew he just had to haveit. Bit like me really.

Mines only done 9000 miles so it is really like new. He told me there was 8 in the country including his. Have you looked an the Jap web sites for will owners, quite interesting.

Hi S.Boyd6

Here are a few web sites for you to browse.

I expect I'll be able to go to a toyota meet.

Are you aware that the VVTi engine will be fitted in the Lotus Elise later on this year ?. Well 4 doors along from my garage is Minister Racing Engines and they do engine development work for Lotus so they have just started to look at the options for this engine. Should be interesting to see what they can do.

You should be fluent in Japanese within a few days !!!

This car hasnt been built for a few years. And looking at some of the Toyota website, it looks as though The WILL brand has been dropped for the time being. Looking closely at the car, it seems to have a mixture of

Peugeot 306/307 styling.
