KingToy 0
The Honest John Website has been conducting a real mpg survey whereby motorists advise their average mpg. So far they have received more than 33,000 responses and these show that real mpg is only 87% of the combined mpg published by car manufacturers. Toyota cars are slightly better than average achieving 88%. Given the way the combined figures are obtained its not surprising real mpg is less. This survey result supports the case for the EC to make their fuel tests far more realistic. Uncle Buck 92
This has been available for ages for anyone wanting to check before buying, but it doesn't hurt to nudge those who don't already know :)I was happy to find that my Auris is actually better then the average owner returns mpg-wise. That's probably because I don't do much city-driving & try hard to avoid short runs from cold - not always easy in the Winter !
