1.8 And 2.0 Petrol Back Box Differences

Is there any difference between the 1.8 and 2.0 back box its the petrol version

No,there just the same as far as I can tell !!

Are they the same mark of Avensis ??

If they are then yes but if the 53 is the very last of the mk1's and the 55 a mk2 then I'm not completely sure as the overall dimensions maybe slightly different.

All you can do is measure the two and find out.

Looking on Toyota part catalogue no the 1.8 & 2.0 petrols do not have the same rear exhaust section.

1.6 & 1.8 vvti petrol = 17430-0D220

2.0 vvti = 17430-0H050

That may be true,i'm thinking of the mk1 I can't say with any certainty about the mk2 and am only comparing them by the way they look.

I shouldn't imagine there's a massive difference between them though as they occupy the same place under the car.

If there is a difference it'll be probably the diameter of the pipe where it joins onto the rest of the system but if it's the same then they'll be interchangeable to a certain degree for sure.
