Hi,

Please can anyone advise if the 2005 Verso 2.0 D-4D's are Cambelt or chain driven?

Thanks in advance

Paul

done a bit of research for you.

as far as I can gather avensis verso was only available in a 2.0 d4d & a 2.0 vvti (petrol). from 2001-early 2006.

if its the engine code 1cd-ftv. it will be belt driven. I have just a seen a 05 on autotrader and it states its had a cam belt changed at 60k.

the avensis was facelifted in mid 2006- to the 1ad-ftv. which is chain driven and has 6 gears.

but as far as i am aware they continued to use the 1cd-ftv in the corolla and corolla verso upon til 2007.

good engine, favoured by taxi drivers. not like the new one prone to headgasket failures.

another way to find out. get the vehicle reg, type into www.eurocarparts.com

check if a belt is available if it isnt most likely its chain driven.

I hope this helps, quote me if im wrong guys.
