How Do I Know What Alloys Will Fit My Car

Hi I have an avensis 2003 1.8 and the alloys are 16" but are not in great condition. I'm looking on eBay for a second hand set of alloys but don't want to be restricted to just avensis alloys. If I look at other car makers how do I know which will fit ok?

Thanks are there any other manufacturers 16" wheels that you know will fit. I do like the t spirit wheels but these are 17" so would these fit 2003 model?

They will fit providing they are not from the 2.2 diesel model.
