Flip Key Shell/blank Blade

I got my flip key Shell today. Seems like decent quality. My car is an 09 Aygo but the flip key Shell is actually for a 107. There was no listing for an Aygo specific flip key Shell. Still, looking at the piccies, the original key they show next to the compatible flip key seems identical to my Aygo original, so all should be good - I think?

The thing is, the blank flip key blade has 2 narrow grooves running down the sides which extend about two thirds down the length of the blade. This wasn't apparent in the pictures. My original doesn't have the narrow grooves so I'm wondering if it will work?

Now I have to decide whether to take a chance and get the blade cut and see if it works or whether to send it back which obviously I can't do if its been cut.

So, what do you reckon the chances are of these grooves making no difference?

Thanks

DSH

Can't you have your local locksmith take a look at it?

Or you can allways adapt your original key-blade to fit into the new housing.
