Bonnet Not Opening Please Help!

Hey guys,

Went to put washer fluid in the aygo and couldnt get the bonnet open. The lever in the passenger footwell is quite loose and on closer inspection doesnt appear to be connected to the cable. Tried pulling the cable by hand and with pliers but it isnt realeasing the bonnet to allow me to open it up. Had a look through the gap between the bonnet and front bumper and tried popping up the latch with a long screwdriver whilst getting my mrs to pull the cable from inside but to no avail! Please help! Did a quick search but didnt come back with any helpful results. Is there any quick fix just to get the bonnet open, because i really need to get washer fluid in with all this bad weather we are having.

Many thanks in advance.

Chris.

The cable has either come off the handle or more likely snapped. This is usually due to the catch not being greased and it has jammed.

While someone is pulling on the cable someone else needs to push down on the front of the bonnet where the catch is. This downwards movement may be enough to free it. Once it is free apply a good coating of grease.

Tried pushing the bonnet down whilst pulling the cable but to no avail! Cheers for the help though. I'll nip up and see my mechanic tomorrow.
