Hi Guys, Yet again I need your help> I bumped my rear bumper, no real damage just a scrape, but it has "popped out" a wee bit and pushing back does not hold it in. Question is, can you buy a wee part like a clip type thingy that you can place in the bit showing out proud a bit, and then push this back and the clip holds it back in place, It does look as if thats all i need, can you advise if there is such a part that I can get. Thanks all replies appeciated. Douglas

it would be handy if you could post a pic of your bumper so members can see exactly where the bumper is sticking out also any clips that may need replacing will be available from toyota

There is no "clip" as such. As you can see in the picture there are preformed holes along the edge of the bumper, these push into a plastic retainer which is bolted to the car along the joint.

If the holes on the bumper are still intact then a new retainer is needed however if the holes have broken through on the bumper then you will need to either glue the bumper back in, try some sort of plastic weld or replace the bumper,

Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure they would do it...I was wondering more about these retainers mentioned?

Again I am not sure these clips would do the job, however what i did do was i used a plastic polymer filler that when squeezed i to the void, and then put a small clamp on the area (covered with fabric so as not to damage the bumper) and left this on tightly clamped to hold the two ares together, upon release they were as near dammit together, the polymer had formed a rigid bond holding them together. Now i think i need to do a second fix as it is not just as close as i would like it, leaving the clamp on overnight this time to hold it totally together. Hope this helps. Regards Douglas
