My rear windscreen wiper has just failed on my Avensis CDX ( 2000 ) and being out of work and just out of hospital can't afford to take it anywhere. Think it might be to do with trying to operate it whilst frozen, any help appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

the rear wiper on your car is famous for water running down the spindle past the seal into the motor which may have frozen up or like you say the wiper blade being stuck to the glass. Hopefully your car has a separate fuse for the rear wiper and it's just blown the fuse check the fuse boxes first.
