Gt Engine (18rg) Help.

Hello everyone,

got the gt engine in the xt engine bay but need some advice. What is the silver canister on top of the engine? An air hose comes from the airbox into it and another from the equalising pipe between the inlet manifolds.

Does it add more air to the mixture at low revs/ idle? Do i need it? There is no provision for a power feed to it in the xt loom and getting rid of it would be really helpfull.

I cant be sure but it may be a unit called a anti run on valve which is there to inject more air into the engine after you switch off to stop the engine from running on!
