Which Glass Cleaner / Polish Do You Use?

I recently bought some Autoglym glass cleaner / polish for the car windows and it is really good.

Until now I have used the stuff that's in spray bottles but always find it leaves marks and is not effective enough in my opinion.

The Autoglym product is a cream so you can easily see where it's been applied so no bits are missed in either applying it or polishing it off afterwards.

It reminds me of Windowlene which was available years ago and I used to use that on my then mk3 Ford Escort.

Only issue I found with the emulsion type products is that, when polished off, they sometimes leave powdery residue over other services.

Have found Mr Muscle window cleaner leaves smears. Ajax with vinegar is quite good. Currently using Astonish (comes in 750ml trigger spray so quite good value - think still available from Wilko) and Armorall - both quite good.

Autoglym seems cheaper, but I just use sainsburys own glass polish with vinegar and paper kitchen towels

I use Mr Sheen as a universal cleaner. It is effective on glass and interior trim.

In a word, no!!! I have purchased it but not used it yet. A case of lazyitis I guess. I will over the weekend and put up my opinion, if it rains, as I want to see how the water runs off the glass.

Wondered if you hadn't used it because it's invisible and you cannot find it ;) :)

Awaiting your observations......(through a clean screen) :)

We'll I have cleaned the glass on the car and I am quite happy with the initial result. As it is nice and sunny and no threat of rain until Tuesday, I will post back once I have used the car in the rain and seen if the water disperses as described on the bottle.

Flash is not recommended for cleaning screens as it might cause scratching ;)

After cleaning the car glass, I decided to do the house windows with the same stuff. I must admit, they seem to be cleaner and certainly streak free. Maybe it's psychological, but I am pleased with them. We shall see tomorrow as it's raining now but too dark to judge anything until tomorrow.

Well, nice and sunny this morning and the windows are dry, clean and no watermarks on them. We are close to the coast so tend to get a lot of salt in the rain, which in turn marks the glass when it dries on. I know it is only one wash and one downpour, but even the wife mentioned that they look better, after she opened the curtains. Almost some brownie points!!! Next test is the car when it rains again later on!!!

Finally had the car out whilst it was raining today and I am very happy with the result. It's a mute point whether or not it is worth the 10 pounds in the first place, but I don't feel that it a waste of money. Only time will tell when the spray runs out, to whether or not I get another one the same, or try something else. Watch this space........
