HI

For us guys with out T3 OR SR models...with the side skirts and rear spats as standard...has anyone figured out a way round the mud flap problem?..well i assume the genuine flaps wont work because of these bodykits fitted! But can these mud flaps be modified maybe?

When I had my Corolla Colour Collection (based on the T3) the mudflaps wouldn't fit due to the bodykit (the accessories part of the brochure highlighted this). Pretty sure it is because the bodykit prevents the mudflaps aligning against the sills (for the front mudflaps), and the spats prevent the flaps sitting against the rear bumper properly. Only mudflaps which may fit are accessory ones which aren't as moulded.

Does the Corolla have flanges on the wheel arches - if so you could consider something like Cannon mudflaps which clamp onto the wheel arch flange (see http://www.cannoncarmats.co.uk/Mudflaps-388-d.html

Cannon seem to have fallen by the wayside. At one time Halfords used to stock all the Cannon mats, but the Halfords website doesn't have them now. You can order directly from them but they only do their universal mats for the Corolla - http://www.cannoncarmats.co.uk/ProfileIClassicShape2Universal-66-d.html £24.99 for a set of four.

B&Q are supposed to have the same ones - http://www.diy.com/nav/build/motoring-workshop-tools/car-mats-seat-covers-protectors/car_mats/Cannon-Profile-2-Rubber-Car-Mat-Set-Of-4-11377764?bqrefcmp=AW%26bqrefcre=AW_AFFILIATES&ecamp=Aff-71959&noCookies=false on a reserve and collect basis at £19.98 for a set of four.

Rimmer Bros have the same on clearance - http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-XPT000067ACA £10 for a set of two front mats plus shipping.

E-bay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Rubber-Car-Mats-Floor-Mats-Set-of-4-Cannon-Profile-2-/170892073361?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c9f61991 £17.99 for a set of four with free shipping

Millions of years ago when I used to drive a citroen I was warned against fitting mudflaps to the rear, apparently there is the possibility of directing and caking areas around the rear wheels with wet mud and thereby promoting corrosion, just a thought.

As long as the wheel arches are hosed out regularly I don't think this is a problem. We've had mud flaps on all of our cars bar one (the 2006 Corolla Colour Collection where the body kit prevented mud flaps being fitted) and not had any issues.
