I would ask the dealer, but it doesn't hurt to be gentle for a while.

So does it seem different, excluding the more recent journeys to the dealer etc.?

Hi Gus

After driving it for a day or so now,yes its like a diesel Rav4 should be,no howling from what i can hear at the moment,it pulls cleanly ( ive only driven it to 60 ish so far, and very gently).

It also sound like a modern diesel Toyota does when its starts from cold,a very very quick high pitched " tew tew tew " and it fires easily,i've yet to try it on a hot start...it will be done tomorrow.

But.......if it does still crank quickly when at temp ,but doesnt fire up.....thats when i'll be a little erm......annoyed.

TBH...if that happens, then it'l be decision time, trade in or spend more ( think it'l be trade in ) and probably get a.....hhmm,yaris.
