Damaged Rear Bumper

backed into lampost. rubber bumper dented in paint pelled and cracked. can i fix this myself ie is it bolted on and is the bumper all in one right round to the wheel arch as it all seems like a plastic material do not want to claim on insurance and does it come already colour coded all help greatly appreciated

have found forum post how to remove rear bumper .looks to much for me so on to plan B and call in a favour from my garage manager friend if bumper not to exspensive??.its bound to be an arm and a leg.if it is then it will be plan C.back to insurance and blow my no claimes dis.cheers all

What year RAV? Loads of bumpers on e-bay.

Have you had a 'Smart' Repairer look at it? They can do wonders in a lot of cases.

I had a bump from an uninsured driver which wrecked the nearside rear bumper.

The replacement (new) was £175 IIRC but was definitely unpainted.

A friend of a friend of a friend did the job for me at cost.

Good advice from Dave. I had our front bumper done by a local mobille guy & it was a reasonably good job at a fair price.

Google your local Mr. Chips or the like.

Agreed they come unpainted. Bodyshops can often repair them though if they are still securely mounted.
