Avensis Estate Boot Opening Panel

Opening the boot to our car has become a nightmare as the panel which covers the catch to open it has started to come off.

It doesn't look obvious how to fix it so we popped into our local dealer in France who advised that a new panel needs to be order, sprayed and then fitted which seems to be a bit excessive for something which I thought would be so simple to fix!

Anyone know of any other solutions?

Hi Anne,

I had the same problem and I solved it by placing washers under the head of the each bolt, so it wouldn't go loose. It was a bit of a hassle to get the nuts back on, but actually it took me about 30 minutes. Worth trying.
