How To Remove 2003 Avensis Engine Cover Under Bonnet?

The question is very basic. How do i remove the Engine cover on a 2003 Avensis 2.0 D-4D. Once upon a time the Covers were held in place with 2 fixings but no longer - so I'm stuck. Any pointers would be appreciated!

There are two nuts in the recessed holes in the cover. Remove these and the cover just pulls off.

My 2006 Avensis has no nuts, just 4 ball/rubber click fixings underneath. Just harsh pull the cover upwards ...
