Brake Warning Light

Hi

Over recent days noticed brakes soft. Pedal going right to floor only very slowly, stiffens up when pumped. Now warning light on dash comes on when pumping brakes.

Checked fluid, just below maximum it has not been changed for some time.

Planning to check it out tomorrow any ideas as to where to look?

Pads worn down to wear indicator? If it has an indicator.

Going to check pads for wear and callipers for leaks, no sign of leaks on master cylinder

Yep, sounds as though it could be worn pads. Also there have been a few posts on here about brake pedal travel. It seems the pedal will creep to the floor if you hold it on hard when stationary. This doesn't indicate a fault or mean that the brakes don't/won't work. Its just something the system does. Still hauls the car to a halt pretty damn quick.
