Hi everyone, first post in the Auris forum having just part exed the Rav for a new Auris Sport 1.6 which I think is great by the way.

Anyway, back on topic, JC referred to the Corolla on Sunday's TG as a 1.8 140 bhp, is that the engine fitted in NZ? What a shame its not available in the UK, a bit more power and torque which I would have chosen if on offer.

Think the 1.8 engine is the only engine fitted to the Corolla hatchback for the Australian and New Zealand markets. The saloon is available with a 1.8 and 2.0 litre.

Yeah saw the episode this morning. Unusual that JC uses toyota on their show (apart from gt86). He didnt really give any good comment on the car. But watching it, the corolla/ auris looks nice and drives well on any surface.

It does suck that we're so engine-restricted here; When it first came out the Auris had a lot more engine choices!

At least the new reasonably priced car was a Vauxhall, not our favourite brand 😄

Well unless they went for an Aygo, Toyota stuff tends to nudge more into the premium rather than 'reasonably priced'!

Watching them try to get e.g. a rugby player or brian blessed in an Aygo would be hilarious tho

He`s used a Hilux on a few programmes and done the sales and reputation a massive favour.
