Im new to this but I have got a corolla T-Sport 2004, there is a lid above the ash tray that doesn't stay closed, I was wondering how it normally stay closed is there normally a spring mechanism or something? any help would be appreciated as it never stays closed,

is there a place I can buy a new one from if required.

From memory of my 2006 Corolla, I don't think the lid to the dashboard cubby was either sprung or damped. Suppose in time the hinge arrangement develops wear.

Hi, yeah there is a spring in there. the mechanism often breaks after a few years its so weak. .Best option is to look for someone breaking a car or just seal it shut .
