Opi oils recommands Castrol Universal 75w90 semi Synth as standard and Motul 300 Synthetic as an upgrade.

I have coupple of Castrol 75W90 1L Syntrans Multi Vehicle Full Synth - On the bottle it says API GL4 on the spec sheet it says GL3/4.

I am wondering it would be OK to use these on my car.

Always go for a full synth like Motul gear 300 ect... If it says GL3/4 then it covers both... Type your reg into one of the oil finders like Opie/Shell/Castrol and see what comes up.

Hi Mistermena,

Thanks for the response.

Castrol website shows their Universal Semi Synthetic

Shell website also shows Semi Sythetic

Opi Oil shows Universal Semi Synthetic as standard or Motul as an upgrade

Mr. T says its Fully Synthetic 75w90

I thought since I have these Fully Sythetic and it is API GL4 rated, I could use these but I was not 100% sure.

If Mr T says a full synth than I'd go for that one mate every time :drunk:

It can use a semi or full synthetic. Full synthetic is the better option and Motul Gear 300 is one of the best oils available, but the Castrol is also fine to use.

Cheers

Changed the gear oil today, quite straight forward (other than placing the oil pan off target), 1st and 2nd are now very smooth.

I did notice that the drain and fill plugs are same size, 24mm and also the drain plug did not have this magnetic tip everyone talks about so could not tell how much grind dust there was at the bottom.

Thanks guys guys.
