Satnav - Lat & Long

Hi. Prius T-spirit, Gen II. The satnav has a facility for entering a destination by lat & long: but only ( I believe ) by degree/min/sec. Does anyone know if there is a 'settings' change to accommodate the UK O S map system. The destinations I have in mind are back of beyond in character. J

I don't know of any setting change but you can obtain the Lat & Long point of you destination on google maps if that helps. Are you looking to bury a body LOL ?

There's no setting that allows you to do that, no. If you have a smartphone there are apps that will help. I have two on my iPhone, one that converts postcodes to long lat, and one that converts OS grid references to long lat.

Or you could pick your destination direct from the map, which is usually quicker.

Having said that, I mostly use the iPhone for navigation in preference anyway.

If you Google "lat long to UK National Grid" you have a choice of several websites for converting in both directions. Take your pick.

Hi Folks. Thanks for suggestions: I'll follow them up. The grandkids say that a smartphone would be wasted on me, and to give it to them instead! Kithmo, - SWMBO likes caravan sites that no one else has ever heard of. J

I have just noticed this so a bit late.

This site will convert a location to a number of different formats in degrees/minutes/seconds and it uses OS maps.
