Aygo Odd Sound Under Load :(

So car's driving ok, apart from the water pump starting to weep ever so slightly.

But under load say 2800-3100 Rpm, there's an odd resonance then it goes after that, so only in a certain rev range, got under the car today nothing seams loose, only one heat shield at the rear thats looks ok and the heat shields up by the Cat and Rad shroud all look fine.

Really am a little lost here not sure what it could be.

5w30 oil "***** on" on the dip stick and no gear or clutch problems

Sounds like my car but only when it sits at a certain angle on the road. I dont have anything loose or any kind of knocking noise but I have heard resonance as you say comes from earlier Aygos. The newer versions have new and improved engine mounts. Your description doesnt tell where its coming from or what it sounds like if any noise.

the sound come from front end i think almost sounds like a screw in a metal box, sort of im not sure how to describe it, im sure it might be the cat shroud, it really did sound like a loose heat shield but the aygo has non, maybe the cats breaking down inside or the rear exhaust box is dead and the sounds going back up the pipe ?

If you get the noise when cornering then it maybe the heat shield rubbing against the brake disc

Good shout "LAKEUK". Thanks for your input. Let us know how it goes Filby. My car doesnt sound like its a "loose in a metal box" but I did drive a Peugeot 106 which had the same sound! It drove well but never had any issues with it.
