T-Sport Trc & Vsc Warning Lights.

Hey guys.Just had the tracking done on my 05 plate T-Sport,after driving for about a mile the Trc & Vrs warning lights flashed on. I stopped turned off & set off again but the lights came back on within 30 secs. Any idea`s? Is there some sort of reset i can do myself to solve the problem?

I forgot to mention i did have a full set of replacement pads & discs as well. I just went around the block (again!) & felt what seemed to be the rear brakes come on without me touching them! Only lasted for a few seconds then went ok,lights are still on though.

Will do but back in work for 4 days as of 7am tomorrow so it`ll have to wait! I`ll just drive with less right foot! Thanks for the advice.

Try a full reset by disconnecting the Battery for a few minutes (press brake briefly pedal while disconnected to ensure all supplies are discharged). I had something similar happen on my TSport that sort of coincided with having the front left shock absorber dealer replaced when it was around four years old. It cured the problem for me. Kept the car 'till 8 yrs old 70k+

Ok i tried the disconnecting Battery trick with no joy! Going back tomorrow to the place where they did the brakes.Hopefully it`s just a loose sensor or it`s dirty.Don`t need more expense at the moment!

Just been back to garage that did the brakes & they tested all sensors & no faults shown on the system! Could it be to do with having my tracking done? Been reading elsewhere about jaw rate sensor recalibration may solve the issue. This is starting to get on my wick now.I know it`s just 2 lights on the dash lit but need to sort it without spending mega money. Anyone had jaw rate sensor issues on a t-sport vvtl-i before?

A real pity the reset didn't work. It also seems a huge coincidence that this happened after having the tracking work done. Jaw sensor :) or yaw sensor ?

Clutching at straws here but it might be worth trying the reset again. Leave it disconnected overnight and make sure the wheels are in the straight ahead position when you do the reset. Beyond that and I suspect you are looking at dealer advice/diagnostics but if it were me I would definitely try again.

Well only just around to trying disconnecting the Battery overnight & it`s not worked.So it looks like a trip to Toyota.

Sorry to hear its still no joy. I think Toyota is your best option, but it will be interesting to hear the diagnosis in view of the previous work carried out.

Anyone know the cost of a yaw rate sensor if it is that? Think i seen somewhere it`s around £120+ fitting. My local dealership is RRG in Denton anyone had dealings with them before?

Try sending Parts King a personal message to enquire about the cost of a yaw sensor.

Just back from Toyota.Could`nt recalibrate the steering angle sensor so wasted £49.00. They want £521.18 to do the job! Can`t see that getting done anytime soon! £282.90 for the part,2hrs labour £176.00 + the dreaded VAT! Can this job be done outside of a main dealership?

If that's the official diagnosis there's probably not much option really. I'd imagine the calibration would be the stumbling block for a non Toyota dealer. Even if its a simple procedure... if you don't know how to do it and all.

Are there any independent specialist Toyota outfits I wonder ?

Just to update you,my local garage is in the process of pricing the job up.The lady owner say they have done loads on of steering alignment sensors on the avensis but can`t recall doing one on a T-Sport Corolla. On another note flew through it`s MOT. Not a single advisory. :)

That's good news on the MOT front. Hope the price for the other work is more reasonable.
