Toyota Diesel Injection Cleaner...should I Use It ?

Hi All,

I have a 350ml bottle of Toyota Diesel injection cleaner, but not sure if i need it. I have an Avensis D4D 2.2 T180 2006, which i have had for about 3 years and never added any cleaner. I am guessing the previous owner may not have either unless the dealer added it in services.

If i dont have any obvious performance issues is it something i should add regularly when filling up to clean injectors and do i add the whole bottle when i fill up ?

It will do more GOOD than harm, modern supermarket diesels have less additives, so there is a danger the injectors can get gummed up, it wont harm the car at all

Yep as Kingo has said it will do more good than harm and would use that particular cleaner at least once a year.

I use another type of additive at every fill and use Shell V-Power :)

What does the bottle say?... Just bank it in tank and see what difference it makes

Is it a genuine Toyota injector cleaner? Personally I wouldn't unless its giving bother - use good quality fuel and change the filters regularly with genuine parts and you shouldn't have a problem.

Its only a mild cleaner and was on eBay a while back for £5, the bottle to a full tank.

It is a genuine Toyota cleaner so will add whole bottle to next fill up and let you all know how it goes. thanks all !
