Mass Air Flow Sensor Location

my friends aygo / c1 / 107 has the engine light on and a fault code of P0171 system too lean. I have checked online and a citroen / pug / toyota data website informs me that this faut is likely caused by either a vacuum leak downstream of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor or it is dirty and needs a clean.

Where abouts on the engine is this located?

or

has anyone else had the same fault code

There is a bulletin from Toyota which may apply:

DESCRIPTION OF PHENOMENON
Some customers may complain that it’s difficult or impossible to start the engine, the Mil comes on and the
DTC P0171 (system to lean) is stored in the engine ECU memory. When driving the power performance of the
vehicle might be slightly reduced.
PRODUCTION CHANGE
The fuel pump production process has been improved.

A new fuel pump ( in the fuel tank ) is required part # 77240-0H010 + Gasket 77169-0H010 & Retainer 77144-0H010.

The fix was included in production from November 2009.

would this also apply to citroen c1's as that is what he has got. ive been told by a toyota technician that i know, and also by the main dealer that they frequently replace the pre cat oxygen sensors to rectify the fault.
