I need to remove the trim on the A pillar to route the wire for a bluetooth microphone and wondered if its just a case of grabbing and pulling or is there more to it than that ie a place to start, clips to pop out, dont want to damage it in the process do I ;)

Thanks

Les

Hi Les,

Just make sure that there are no SRS curtain airbags behind the moulding. I would guess that, at yours age, there won't be (our 02-reg didn't have them but the 54-reg had the works - curtains, side bolsters, etc.) but, if there are, there will be a SRS logo on the moulding.

Nevertheless, if it is a light weight wire, would it not be possible to gently lever the trim away a bit from the rubber door seal and slide it in that way? That would avoid dislodging the trim clips.

Thanks for the quick response,,I dont think there is the airbag issue to worry about !! and it might be worth a try sliding it under the trim insead of removing it,I might give it a try after dinner while the weathers ok

Thanks

when I have fitted similar ( parrot kits etc ) to other cars I have always been able to ease the cable in without removing the trim. I'm sure you should be able to to same.
