Mk1 Mr2 Technical Book

OK, I've just been given a '89 Mk1 MR2. It's in full running order, currently tax and MOT although tax being given back once it's been driven to my folks place where I'll be doing some work on it but need a techincal book on a Mk1 MR2 and 4-age engine

The car needs a new drivers side front panel as rust too bad to repair. apart from that need to do the following....

repair the minro rust spots on exterior panels.

Strip inside to bare minimum

Insert Roll Cage and Harness

Find new back bos as current one has rusted away

Find out how bare the interior can be and pass mot.....

End goal, Mk1 track car.....

I can't believe I've just been given it FOC....

Any decent motorists centre should be able to order you a chiltons manual for the car its set up for the US market but i find its a bit more in depth than the "haynes book of fairytales" :P which is good enuf for basic stuff

as for interior i think all you need is a dash ,2 seats and thats about it junk the door panels, carpet and any soundproofing should lose you a fair bit of weight my mates mr2 track car is road legal and thats all hes got we even used a cone cutter to remove metal on the door bonnet and boot frames (is that right for an mr2 :))

chiltons book number is 8091 or isbn 0-8019-8061-5 it covers mr2, corolla and tercel 84-90and its about 18 quid hope that helps you out
