Srs Warning Light On 2009 Yaris Sr

The SRS warning light refused to go off in my car in June 2013, this was a month after the 12 month warranty I got from the Toyota dealer expired. I booked the car in for a check but the problem was intermittent and the light didn't come on when they had the car so they couldn't read the fault code.

I waited a couple of months, the fault was still intermittent, and booked it in again in August. The light stayed on and they checked the wiring and took the seat out and then told me that the fault code was B821 and it needed a new airbag in the drivers seat at a cost of £693.26!

I haven't had the work done as I don't believe that the airbag could be at fault, it has never been deployed and I was sure the fault would be with the wiring or a sensor.

The problem has continued to be intermittent. I have tried to check the wires under my seat but can't see anything loose.

Can anyone help me? Or should I get a second opinion?

Try www. airbagman.co.uk or airbagreset.com No personal experience of these but heard some recommendations.

Try checking the connectors underneath the front seats as they could of been knocked whilst vaccing the interior.
