Start Button 1St Key Position Equivalent

I've just purchased a new Auris Excel which is excellent.

It's got the Start button which is something I've never had before. The only problem is when I'm trying to set up the radio and bluetooth etc I need to have the engine running because there is no way of just turning the electrics on in the same way as turning the key to the first position. Is this right?

If anyone knows a way round this I'd be grateful to hear.

Thanks.

Assuming this works on the same principle as my older Auris, you need your foot on the clutch to start the engine yes ? If you don't hold the clutch down & the gearlever's in neutral, one press will bring on the initial electrics & 2 will bring on all the dash lights.
