Hello everyone new to forum & first post, I hope someone can help me?

I’m looking for the schematics (not the wiring diagram) of the alarm module on a Rav4 2002

I intend to connect my GSM alert to the alarm, I did this on my previous vehicle & it worked a treat.

Bob,

Could you clarify what you're actually after, if not the wiring diagram.

Hi Chris

A wiring diagram of the alarm system would be of use.

What I’m actually after is the layout of the Alarm module PCB itself.

I intend to connect my GSM unit to the alarm system.

I would like to look over the internal workings of the module first so as I don’t upset anything by doing this.

Hi Bob and welcome to the club. I reckon you would benefit from a chat with our shcm, illustrious poster of this parish, whose grasp of things electronic/technical is quite phenomenal. No doubt he will be along at some point.

Hi Bob,

I've scoured my official Toyota electrical wiring diagram for the 2002 RAV, but the alarm system is neither listed in it, not does it appear on any of the circuit diagrams. I suspect that the alarm is actually a function of the Engine ECU (the engine immobiliser certainly is), and therefore there are no details.

Someone else may be able to help (or has done the interconnect themselves), OR you could try looking at

http://www.toyota-tech.eu

which provides technical information for owners, repairers, trade, etc. You need to register/log in, and pay (very low charges) for timed enquiries/downloads online.

Sorry can't help further.

Chris

Thanks for the quick reply, looks like at trip to the breakers to get an old unit to play with. If I have any luck I'll post it
